Ha Long Shipbuilding signed a contract to build 6 CSOV wind power service vessels with a Dutch enterprise

On the morning of July 18, in Quang Ninh, Ha Long Shipbuilding Company Limited (Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation) held a signing ceremony to build 6 new wind power service vessels with Damen Shipyards Series Company (Netherlands).

CSOV wind power service vessel is a type of service vessel supporting the offshore wind power industry with many modern features and complex structures, requiring high level of expertise and skills in construction.

According to the signed contract, the 6 wind power service vessels ordered by Damen Shipyards Series (Netherlands) have a length of 88.6m, a design width of 19.7m, a height of 8m, a design draft of 5.3m, and a load capacity of approximately 6,700GT. The value of each vessel is 10 million Euros.

Leaders of Ha Long Shipbuilding Company Limited and Damen Shipyards Series Company (Netherlands) signed the contract.

According to the agreement signed between the parties, the construction of these 6 new CSOV wind power service vessels will be started and handed over every 3 months. Ship No. 1 will start construction in January 2025 and be handed over in November 2026.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Manh Ha, Acting General Director of Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, emphasized that in 2022 and 2023, Ha Long Shipbuilding Company Limited signed with Damen Shipyards Company a series of 8 CSOV wind power service vessels.

The re-cooperation between Damen Group and Ha Long Shipbuilding Company Limited has opened up great potential for the enterprise to strongly participate in the global value chain of the international shipbuilding market.

This important milestone marks Damen Group’s confidence in the quality of workmanship and the potential for sustainable development cooperation between the two companies.

Mr. Pim Schuurman, representative of Damen Shipyards Series Company (Netherlands), affirmed that this is a good cooperation that the two sides have implemented in the past time. At the same time, he suggested that Ha Long Shipbuilding Company Limited should effectively implement safety procedures during the construction process.
