Soon to complete the connection of the regional transport system

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam’s total import-export turnover in 2020 will reach 545 billion USD, up 5.1% compared to 2019. Notably, from 2012 to now, our country has gradually balanced. trade balance and trade surplus started. If in 2010 there were only 20 export items of more than 1 billion USD, by 2020, this number has increased to 32 items… With the size of the economy getting bigger and bigger, export turnover increases every year, demanding logistics services must develop commensurately. According to the master plan, Cai Mep-Thi Vai deep-water port cluster (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) and Long Thanh international airport (Dong Nai) will be the major logistics centers of the whole region. The connection of the transport system between localities, large commodity production centers in the region with logistics centers determines the size and competitiveness of the economy.

Along with the seaport system, the development and completion of the port logistics service system, the development of the Cai Mep Ha Logistics Center, the specialized inspection center… is one of the key tasks of the port. Ba Ria-Vung Tau province during this term.

However, for a long time, the transport system connecting the region has revealed many limitations, focusing mainly on road traffic, which is already overloaded, has not yet connected effectively between road and waterway, lacks connectivity. between modes of transport with large carrying capacity and competitive prices such as railways, inland waterways, etc.

In fact, in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, with nearly 50 seaport projects already in operation, with a planned capacity of more than 155 million tons of cargo per year, national highway 51 connects Ba Ria-Vung Tau with Ho Chi Minh City. Minh and other provinces in the region were quickly overwhelmed. In order for domestic logistics enterprises to grow and expand their business scope to markets outside of Vietnam, more than ever, businesses need to promote links with each other, between logistics enterprises and manufacturing enterprises. , export, import, share knowledge and experience, build trust to improve internal capacity. And to do that, it is necessary to soon form a network of large enterprises, capable of leading the market; search, share orders, reduce logistics costs, improve competitiveness for domestic products and goods…
