Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company Limited safely and successfully organized the launching ceremony of a 65,000DWT bulk carrier.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee emphasized that the event of Nam Trieu Shipyard successfully launching a 65,000DWT cargo ship, the largest ship built in Vietnam, is a concrete proof, gradually affirming the increasingly improved technical capacity, technology, engineering skills, and shipbuilding construction level of Hai Phong city’s industry, as well as of the entire Vietnamese shipbuilding industry.

Mr. Vu Thanh Tung, General Director of Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company Limited, said that this is the first ship in the batch of two 65,000 DWT ships ordered by Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Company, named “Truong Minh Dream 01”, belonging to the largest tonnage shipbuilding project ever carried out by Vietnamese engineers and workers, supervised by NK – Japan Register.

The ship “Truong Minh Dream 01” has a deadweight of 65,000DWT, an overall length of 199.99m, a width of 32.26m, and a total capacity of 35,823GT. The ship was designed by the Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering Joint Stock Company (Visec) in partnership with Blutech – Finland with many outstanding features compared to similar products in the world.

All stages of manufacturing “Truong Minh Dream 01” were carried out by the team of engineers and workers of Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company and domestic contractors. Designed, built and installed with modern equipment, meeting the latest international conventions and classified by the NK – Japan Register to be able to operate in all international waters, as well as satisfy the requirements of all seaports in the world.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chi, Director of Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Joint Stock Company, representing the ship owner, expressed his joy at the completion of the 65,000DWT ship No. 1 on schedule, and once again affirmed that this is the largest cargo ship built in Vietnam to date, a ship with a modern design and the most superiority in terms of resistance, fuel efficiency and emission quality, reducing the weight of the ship to the optimal level, satisfying the strict conditions of port authorities in the US, Europe and Australia.

“Based on the good cooperation in the past, we trust and assign Nam Trieu Shipyard to continue constructing the 65,000DWT ship No. 2, with better quality requirements and even shorter construction time,” said Mr. Chi.

Mr. Tran Manh Ha, Acting General Director of the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, requested Nam Trieu Company to focus all resources to soon complete the 65,000DWT ship No. 1 and hand it over to the customer after launching.

At the same time, the second ship was quickly built and delivered on schedule, ensuring quality as required. In that spirit, Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company laid the keel of the 65,000DWT cargo ship No. 2 immediately after the successful launching ceremony of ship No. 1.
